Black ice is another thing, you're in the hands of the gods with that. Scary.

10 miles im afraid and no buses ...and all cars were getting stuck on that road because at the time every bit of snow was thick.even my dad had to leave his vectra at the bottom of the hill leading onto our estate as he couldnt grip the hill and everywhere out here are bloody hills.
We only got to get the v6 out 3 days after all the snow and found the main roads were all still bad.

I drove in the polo to SP11 9ER today from Andover, going up 2 or 3 quite nasty hills which where untreated and looked like this all the way
Image
Didnt slide or spin once (unless i was messing about)
Every hill i got too i just started going up in 1st at a steady speed and didnt move the accelerator and it went up no problems. A small front wheel drive car is def more stable than the turbo would've been.

I've had some of my learners out in the snow and they all take note of what they were told and have been driving around with no problems.

Proves my point Mark. A throttle and a clutch are not switches.

Well my V6 has done well in the snow - yeah had a bit of blackpool with the TC light but found the abs works well, much better than my mrs astra that hasn't got anything.
the main thing is i haven't had any issue's with it -its started every time i have needed it even after leaving it a week, I sometimes get comments of why do you drive that old car? well it was nice to see a 59 plate alfa on the back of an AA truck the other night lol.

Just had to push the post office van - heard his wheels spinning he was in first gear with full revs for 10 mins!
