Also search for gearbox faliures and pedal brackets splitting on them while you're there. ;)

calm down mate, it was only a joke :)

a seat forum would be your best bet for accurate advice, but i've ran fiats (not seats, but heyho, it rhymes) for years. they are very prone the clutch thrust bearings getting worn and eating through the clutch fingers.

when that happens, the clutch gets heavy and it eats cables in particular. can also stress pedal welds etc if its particularly fubared.

no idea if its anywhere near as common in seats/vw's etc, but have a listen for any strange noises with the car in neutral and even if theres not, when clutch is cable is fitted, feel the pedal weight. if its heavy, its new clutch time.

thats fiat advice, but im sure it translates to alot of cable operated systems.

as for how hard it is to fit a clutch cable to an ibiza?...nae idea, try a seat forum for advice

As I was the one who posted the joke link I will say this.
I was just trying to make a point that alot of people post questions on car specific forums (e.g. calibra site) about other cars rather than asking google etc first.
It was harmless fun and nothing personal.

Calm dowm Calm down

spot on Andy this is a calibra forum after all, although we do try to help out when we can. a totally different brand of car is probably stretching it a little :D
