the not so tangerine cally

by Tangerine » Thu Oct 08, 2009 7:17 pm

here's photos of my 1996 vauxhall calibra 2.0 ecotec

after a troubled start caused by a stuck open sunroof, the cars now back, and the sunroof is staying coompletley shut for now

plans are to remove those horrible, tasteless chavvy lexarse lights and replace with standard ones.
de-nipple the wings for clear repeaters, shape undecided
hid conversion
fit a headunit
go back to standard plates
general tidy up of a few scuffs and bubbles
full wash and polish, inside and out

and no doubt a few other things along the way.

cheers for all the positive comments guys :)

shame it didnt get a wash and polish before the photos, but it still looks shiney enough to just get away with from a distance :D

Ok, standard rear lights will hopefully be on this weekend :D

Not much has been done bar fixing the passenger side mirror which has been vandalised twice in the space of a week, but its fixed now :)

i can't decide what stereo headunit to buy though, anyone got any recomendations?

im looking into the side repeaters i want and hid's meantime and perhaps a small exhaust upgrade is in order soon

i honestly can't decide either wether or not to fit an irmscher spoiler  some angles i look at it i think it looks bare without one, others i preffer the standard streamlined look...decisions decisions 8)

Few pics of recent updates, excuse her filtyness, she will be washed before stage 2 of this weeks tweaks

Led front sidelights

Stanard rear lights that dont leak!!!!!

as you can see, ive still to sort my wiring issue with the drivers side brake/sidelight. it does work occasionaly. sometimes the brake light stays fully on though. you may also spot the different brightness of the number plate lights, its linked to the brake light issue, seems to be the earth from the left number plate light throwing the random faults up. will be sorted this week hopefully :)

to finish off the update, heres a blurry one from today

Image

and a wee game of spot the calibra from a few weeks ago
