wcKo's 1993 Special Edition (SE1)
wcKo's 1993 Special Edition (SE1)
Here is a thread for my calibra SE. I have been after this car for almost a year. It was sat on my next door but 1 neighbours drive, doing nothing. I have been trying to buy it for ages but they would not let it go, as they had owned it from new. Rob the owner would not sell it as he was the first owner and the second as he signed it to his business. My wife, grew up living opposite him and he was a close family friend. Sadly he passed away recently. He had cancer and had and operation which was sucessful in removing it, but being in his 60's he found it hard after the operation and passed away after 2 months. His son knew that I wanted it, and that I was a member here. He approached me and said I could buy it for £200 as he knew that it would be going to a good home and that his father would have wanted that. He was a classic car fanatic and would have hated seeing it go to scrap.
It has 185,000 miles and had been sat since 2007 when it failed its MOT. Since owning it, I got its through its MOT, it needed 2 headlights, seat belt, CV gaitor and handbrake adjusting. Underneath its mint, only a few small rust bubbles on the shell, but it is stonechipped all over the front,
I have added HIDs, Scenic splitter, removed tow bar, new headliner as old one was bad, full valet, replaced loads of worn interior bits, new parcel shelf, serviced and loads more niff naff bits. Went to my service book today and seen it has about 18- 20 stamps, all but one are main dealer.
Heres some pics

Re: wcKo's 1993 Special Edition (SE1)
plans are for me to renew all parts and for a respray (I paint as a hobby) and just get it looking nicer. A few subtle mods like lowering, flush boot etc but nothing ott. Its a really good car and has been well looked after over the years and bar the stonechiping and few parking dings, the shell is mint, and underneath its just light surface rust. I will be undersealing it soon ready for winter.
As for the towbar and badge, these are not the most recent pics I am afraid as need to take some more the bars is off and badge is on. My month old daughter is taking 99% of my spare time up atm so need to get updated pics

I will be keeping the same colour as I know how few and far between these are now. Any mods will be done on spare parts so they can be switched over easily, such as splitters on spare bumpers etc
