overhaul begins part 2 (se6)

by craigyboy » Tue Aug 25, 2015 8:39 pm

after the se6 sitting for a while I thought it was time to
start the project again. I have stripped out the full interior
cut out the bad bits in the floor.I used cardboard to mark out
the templates and used them to mark up the steel to cut it
I then welded them in place.

Once the engine was out I noticed the same old bit was rotten on the bulkhead, so
I cut that out and welded in a new part of steel.I then tidyed up the rest of the engine
bay and gave it a lick of paint.

Gave the engine bay a clean and a couple of coats of paint
Also had to make up a new off side brake pipe as the old one
was badly corroded.

The next job was to get the block tidied up , so I brushed it with
engine gunk and pressure washed it.I then gave it a couple of coats
of engine lacquer .

The welds not the best because i'm using flux cored wire instead of gas
I've been told in the past that it's a tidier weld with the gas.

Picked all my engine parts and a few other bits up from
the powder coater's yesterday. So all I am waiting on
now is for my silicone hoses to arrive and I will be
putting the engine back in.

After a bit of hastle receiving my hoses I have eventually got the engine
