You can save yourself a bit of money and do it with a paperclip, see section 4.......

I thought that aswell , but this doesnt work on the later cali!
I always did this test on my older ones..
Ive checked with rich at cav16 and brian at vts and they have comfirmed this is the case..
They both say tech 2 only on the late calis..

Tell me about it!
I need to be able to get to the ecu codes, and it doesnt seem to do it..
There all saying that the tech 2 has the ability to drag out the 4x4 codes, and theres no way off doin it other that this/
I dont really want to give vaux £95 for a ten minute job.
Plus talking to the guy that they told me new all about it, it seems he knows alot less than me..

When i checked with vts they said you need to cross pin 8 with j.
This i use to be able to do on my 92 turbo.
When i tried this on my 97 cali, there is no wire goin to pin j.
This is why im told you cannot flash the 4x4 codes up.

Ive just seen a pc based tech 2 kit on ebay!(£25)
Anyone used one of these, or know anyone that has?
Wondered if it was worth trying out.

I would concurr that on the later models you can't read the 4x4 codes

sorry never heard of a pc based one, does it come with the required cable to connect it

from what i knew the tech2 never worked on a calibra, only the tech one/OBD1 scanner.
the tech 2 was only for later model opels/vauxhalls

Did you fix this?

I've got both Tech1 and tech2 and am just the other side of the Dartford Bridge from you. ;)
