MOT due this week and Hazard lights not working!

by Bunnygirl1978 » Tue Apr 14, 2009 9:53 pm

Have done all of my pre MOT checks and found only 2 faults

Reserve light gone - got spare bulbs so no problem!
Hazards lights not flashing, the indicator signal comes up on the dash when the hazard switch is pushed on but nothing is happening. I'm probally wrong but I think a fuse may have blown, or the wiring to the battery is naff.

I have no idea what fuse it is or how to identify the correct wire, can anyone help, any diagrams?
I have done searched but nothing to point me in the right direction.

I don't know if there is a relay for the hazards or not, if so it could be that, or maybe the switch. Go nuts with the switch (on - off alot and quickly) this might solve it. as for the reverse lamps, they are not required to work for the mot anyway.

Thanks for the info on the fuses.
One thing is though, I would of thought that the stereo etc and glove box light wouldnt work if the fuse had gone.

Is it one reverse light gone, or both? If it's both, could be your reverse lamp switch needs replacing.

I'm only trying to do it myself to save a few quid..., I am such a tight *** :assshaking:

My husband has offered to take as look; at that offer I know it needs to go into the garage or a cally mech to come over here otherwise I will be back at square one. :alright:

But going into the garage blind I have no idea possibly how much it will cost :( guess i will have to grin and bear it otherwise no MOT

Item 34=turn signal is that right? What is it?

I put in the new switch, when I push it in, the indicator light comes on the dash display, but the indicator lights them selfs do not flash, the switch unit also doesnt flash.
But my indicators work ok.

I have booked it into a garage for Monday, so I have until then to play with it really.
