URGENT HELP ON CRANK SENSOR !!!!!!

Finally getting the time and the tools together with good weather had ago at trying to do me crank sensor but after removing my alternator belt and the cambelt cover it seems too be even deeper into it does the cambelt have to be removed in order to do it as it was kinda dark and abit stressed after rebuilding my mate front axle on his range rover.
how hard is the crank senso to replace as its looked l;ike alot of work i will have another look at it tommorw but just want to know what im getting into

crank sensor is done under the power steering pump, you can get the sensor easy enough problem is the wire goes round behind engine mount and power steering bracket so they may need to come off

have looked into the job and its bit more confusing than i originally thought im limited to what i can doo as im useing my mates tools and he needs them for work but have been to a garage at the top of the road and has said he will do it for £40 and it means i dont have to do it and i can get on with the alfa :dance:
