Standard speaker wires - should they double up?

Took out one of my speakers to find out why it wasn't working, amongst other things, I found that there was four wires, paired up going to the speaker.

Also the tweeters have never worked. Is it all messed up or correct?

Has it had an amp on it at any point???

Not that I know of no.
The cables are the factory ones. But I dont know how they fixed to the standard speakers. Did the connect to the speaker and from there to the tweeter?

Yes they come from the speaker to the tweeter. Unscrew the panel and take a look behind to see if your tweeter is connected up
