Fault code 145 - Incorrect immobiliser signal received

by sinbrad » Thu Jan 21, 2010 11:15 am

Has anyone seen the error code 145. Yesterday got in the car and went to start her up. Normally she will turn over almost immediately but it seemed as if she didn't want to go. Switched off and tried again and this time she fired up. Driving wise she was normal so got home and carried out the paperclip test and got the code 145. I've got an aftermarket alarm that has it's own immobiliser so I don't understand this error or doesn't this matter? I know there is a chip in the key fob which communicates with another situated in the area of the ignition switch. Any ideas?

cheers

Is this likely to be an ongoing thing or just a one off? What's the most probable cause that's made the immobilser do this and can it be avoided by doing anything?

cheers
