Not firing....immobiliser?

by LE16 » Fri Feb 04, 2011 1:46 am

Getting ECU light flash while trying to turn the engine over so, checked leads - got spark, got fuel pressure, all loom connectors are in the right places so wondering if a possible immobiliser fault is a read herring? (surely if it caused the engine light to flash I wouldn't have fuel or spark). The transponder hasn't had a fault before. Wont get to read the codes (if any) for a few days. So just wondering what ideas are bouncing about?

Flashing light does indicate immobiliser.

Hi,

This is weird,

Sorted it. It wasn't the immobiliser as I thought because the transponder worked before.

AML valve - low voltage and no rpm (expected) no signal to immobiliser (always had that code and no EML flash)

It stopped after I reconnected the broken AML valve wire. However, I broke it again while in that area so the EML is on permanently now but it's ok!

I'm just happy that I got the car started! so my rebuikd is nearly complete. Just need to sort the clutch!

Thanks guys
Sean

The plugs were shot - after I changed them it was ok!
