dash lights

Any electrical issues

dash lights

hey guys ,

has anybody experienced where your dashlights slightly flash in the whole dash including the lights behind the volt gauges, ive been noticing this a few times , as far as i can see the alternator is charging no problem and im not having any starting issues any ideas?

you mean the illumination ??? maybe a fault headlight switch... is it while going over a bump or just sitting at idle.?? could try giving the switch a wee tap and see if it does it

yh i think you could be right fraz , as it does it when i drive the car when the lights on .i did read up somewhere that the switch sort of goes by time.

theres no voltage issues ,cars running great

so it when the lights are already on its doing it ...check/change the fuse think its fuse 8

Could it be a dirty/sticky dimmer wheel switch?

Rotate the dimmer up and down slowly a few times and see if they flicker on and off.

ahh i think youve knocked the nail on the head mate cos it does exactly that with the dimmer.so looks like new dimmer switch then 8)

Of course it is, I just suggested he moved the dimmer as a quick test to determine that.

dont tell me he has just found the dimmer switch and is going along the road and wondering why the dash lights go bright then dim while he turns it ...next he will find out ....that if you pull the bit that you turn to switch the lights on.....it will ......................................oh I will let him find out so he can have the thrill of the experience

Lol yu guys ,i know what dimmer switch is and when you pull light out the interior light comes on pmsl.i will get a new headlight/dimmer switch and hopefully it will sort it.will any switch work from astra etc.and tbh ive not been on the forums that much as ive been tied up with other things etc.

dont think the astra one is the same but any calibra or caviler will do or ill sell you one

ive also seen that the HID lights seem to flicker now and again when your behind someone with lights on , mind you they are 4 years old , maybe i would have to replace the bulbs , can you replace the bulbs or do you have to get another HID kit ?
