Thats how their wired up mate they work off the ignition and all the others work of the sidelights thus being able to dim them and not the heater controls!

It seems silly though that the fan controls and slider controls are not dimmable. So on all Calibras its like this?

No wonder the Bulbs in that Centre console blow since they're 100% on if ignition is on!

I did it a long time ago ...there is a connection on the heater panel that the purple wire goes to, has a two pin white connector. IIRC one side is the supply feed (ignition live) and all I did was dissconnect that and then run a wire from the clock illmination to that supply feed, leaving the connector disconnected of course

I think you can get to the connector once the clock/fuel computer/D.I.D is out the way

or you just cut the live feed at the bulb holder if your taking it off to change the bulb and do the same ..take your choice

I also fitted an LED Bulb in the 'Heater Control Panel' recently...

It's NOT as difficult a job, as I was expecting it to be...

So anyway, here's some more photo's of this Job...

Cheers Fraz....i missed the link sorry.

Thats a good bulb with the 3 LED's, rather than some i've seen with one LED so you end up with the brightness centered in one spot.
