Cv joints

by Redtops Rule » Thu Sep 03, 2009 2:00 am

i was just wundering i had a split cv boot on the front left , and now its making a bit of a knocking noise now when i turn full lock left. think i need a new cv joint ; but do i need to replace them both at the same time? Or can i just do one?

Would £24 deliverd be a good price on 1 cv joint and bootkit?

Also has anybody got any tips??

Cheers Greg

Get a box of latex gloves, it's a real messy job.

Spot on thanks for the advice. Is it a straight forward enough job or would it be easier to pay some one to do it for me ??

cheers Greg

if the splines are the same amount ...yes

you area aware that you need to crack off the bottom ball joint in order to change a CV...and then try and find the circlip that holds it on the drive shaft....now that is messy :)
