Wheel Hubs and wheels...

by Calibra_Mike » Sun Aug 01, 2010 9:24 am

Got me new alloys fitted yesterday but I had to remove the centre caps as the wheel bearing hub cover cap thingy (hope you know what Im on about) sticks out too far, can the hub cover be removed and left off or is that not advisable? same with the back wheels but that hub cover doesn't stick out as fair as the front ones, I was thinking it could be cured by getting some wheel spacers but I didnt really want to have to go down that route...

anyone else come across this issue, Ill get a coupld of photos up to explain a bit better what im on about...

Just hammer it down or remove it all together. It sonly there to cover up the castle nut. Failing that do what the other suggested and cut the ends off the drive shafts.

as said before the cover is supposed to stop some of the dirt from getting in to the castle nut,but the earlier calibras,90/93 didnt have them
