by Allys Cally » Mon Aug 29, 2011 1:42 pm

well thats the tour over with for another year and lets just say i'm still not impressed with the g-max shocks. so i have just ordered a full set of bilstein shocks.
i dont care what anyone says the g-max shocks are fecking crap, i wish i had just bought the billys in the first place as i had them on my old 8v and they were the mutts nuts.

their £190+ from LMF as far as i know. i rated them on my old 8v and quite a few members also have them fitted
g-max were recommended for the v6 but as i've said i'm not convinced. plus you now know first hand mate when we say we drive our cars up here in Scotland

yep ok good but that means if i went down that route i would have to buy the full set of uprated lowering springs to replace my old spax lowered ones so i would be looking at nearly 300 quid for the kit .

but i have seen a few kits on lmf vauxhall like these:

http://www.lmfvauxhall.co.uk/Supersport ... libra.html

210 quid

or the gmax kit which retails for the same price as what you paid for the billy struts with the extra springs in the price (which in turn would save 100 off the price and be a better replacement than standard and considering autovaux quoted me 300 and (vauxhall)600 for standard setup excluding the front springs.

all i need is a simple replacement for a suspension kit that is slightly better than standard ride height without looking on stilts and as i dont use the v6 for track days etc i would of said the gmax would do the job surely , the only reason why i wanted to go to the gmax setup was because robbiev had two kits on both his mag blue v6s and swore by them and for the price of 180 including uprated springs and shocks should really do the job.

you want them...you buy them its not our money nor our car!!

BUT I would not be putting them things on mine, if your wanting a set then my son bought that kit for his Calibra and you can have it cheap as he is also fitting Apex springs with Bilstein shocks now ..only been on the car a month or so, do the job though the back of the car is way higher than mine and its a bouncy ride with them things

second thoughts his has an ecotec so the springs are no use to you
