Calibra turbo LE

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

Calibra turbo LE

by Robs Calibra » Thu Dec 22, 2011 1:16 am

Hi

I am wondering if anyone can please help. I have a calibra turbo LE. I have koni adjustable suspension with eibach springs in rear. I did have pi springs in front but they were pretty bad so took then off and put new eibachs in front - lowered 25mm which Should be standard for the LE. It's lowered too much. I can drive the car, but when hitting bumps and going round corners, it's catching the arch! I am running Courtenay deep dish alloys on 215 40 17 tyres. Does anyone have any ideas what my problem is? I dont understand how many are running eibachs in front some with bigger wheels and have no issues.

Can anyone advise before I go crazy?

what is the offset of your wheels?

it might be marked on one of the spokes on the inside of the wheel, although not all aftermarket wheels have it

What wheels are they? You could always measure it?

Author is not the only one who has problems with Eibach...
My friend bought same prokit a couple months ago and he has same problems as Robs Calibra. Moreover he is on standard 16'' BBS RX with stock tire dimensions.
I have Eibach prokit springs + Koni Sport shocks + 16'' BBS on my Turbo Calibra, and fortunately I have no specific problems with them. But 17" BBS are coming in new year. And now I am a little worried that I can face same problems

It's so annoying so will be getting arches rolled by specialist and hopefully cure the problem. I guess eibach maybe don't account for 17inch alloys as standard are 16 inch. I can only think that makes a difference. Not sure in actual make, they are Courtenay deep dish alloys.
