Ebay wheel issue, advice please.

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

They look very nice, but I wouldn't accept them as they're not what was described. I would open a case directly through ebay support and fight to get your money back and not pay for return postage. Then look else where.

Thanks James,
I appreciate your input, I would normal do the same. But with the resurrence from Rich and Steve I thought I'd give it a shot and actually fitted them up to the hub and checked the rims for fit and clearance, by getting out the old vernier caliper, everything seemed to check out ok, so I'll give them a shot.

I'm going to fit some 215's on the front again, as soon as I can, to aid the turning circle and steering...

Hi Eddey,
Thanks for the information it is appreciated.

I think the problem with rubbing in your case maybe in part the fact that the overall diameter the 225/40/18 would be 637mm, keep in mind the standard cally tyre has a diameter of 607mm, that going to reduce the clearance from the tyre to the lip of the guard by 15mm.
See the links below for further details:

http://www.hyperaustralia.com/tyre_calc.htm

I understand and agree with the reduction in the turning circle, but I have order spacer from these guys to try and help out there, link:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300631376940 ... 1497.l2649

these should push out the rims by either 3mm or 5mm, bringing back my ET to 45mm or 47mm based on the shim used. Also bringing back the wheel to the closer to the orginal ET of 49mm, should also improve the handling and put less stress on the hub bearings, which will also prolong the hub bearings life. I think your rims are ET40 so spacers/shims might help there to.

I think from the last I read from your member project, (by the way nice cally looks great in white with the body kit and you dedication to bring it up to spec is inspiring), you have the standard suspension there would be alot more movement in them than the eibach's koni's on my cally. All in all just some food for thought.

Thank again Eddey

Hi Guys,
Below a photo with the test fit. I took out the old trust vernier caliper to measure up all the gaps and it will be OK with an ET45. The wheels have an ET of 42, but i have some four 3mm and four 5mm shims coming in to set that straight.

I bought the following rims on ebay they quoted 18x8, ET45 and PCD 5x110, link below:

I opened up a dispute in paypal, because I received today rims that were 18x8, ET42 and PCD 5x112, the sellers reponse was was:

Be interested if these fit. I've got 18x7.5" (et42) with 215/35R18 tyres and they come very close to my front suspension. I just about get a finger in between the rim and the suspension.
