What size and type of tyres

by James_Mould » Thu May 13, 2010 7:49 pm

I have just got my self a set of wheels quite cheap. I am having the tyres removed tomorrow and then sending the rims away to be refurbished.

Whats the best size tyres for the cally on 17inch rims?

They currently have 205/40/R17 fitted but 2 of them have about had it so thought I may aswell have a new set.

Also whats the best sort? I was thinking maybe a set of Toyo Proxes 4's. What do you guys think?

Bad new im affraid. Had the tyres removed Saturday morning as I ran out of time afyer work Friday. It turns out one of the wheels is buckled. Its reairable but its going to cost more than its worth. So that was a waste of £50 buying them

On 17" Mags with 40ET, I was using without any dramas:

Front: 215 45 R17 and Rear: 225 45 R17

Current Sizes are: 225 40 R18 - Both Front And Rear also 40ET

This size Tyre gives great handling, but does effect the turning circle at the front!

I'm going to put 215 40 R18 on the Front and experiment with 235 40 R18 on the Rear!
