Anything can be achieved with the right amount of time and a lot of money, the Monaro would probs be cheaper, cool idea though

I'd go down the route of fitting a Lexus V8 (cheap and powerful) to a FWD gearbox (Toyota if I remember rightly) then using the shafts and front struts from the Toyota as well - in the rear of your car. You'd then have rear toe adjustment off the track rods ends which would let you control bump steer. That's the physical mating side of it.

But yeah I don't think the result would be brilliant for the work involved.

Brilliant idea, and no way economical for your bank balance and would never see a return BUT would be a total one off, very different and your own, no one else will have done it they way you have you just have to way up the long term build, budget, are you willing to wait it out for the final result, would be great to see
I'm gonna find me a reckless woman,
Razor blades and dice in her eyes,
Just a touch of sadness in her fingers,
Thunder and lightening in her thighs.

would the calibra shell take that power ?

i think a scobby or evo with a calibra body stuck over the power chain would be much more fun
