A guy I work with has ford capris and goes to quite a few shows up here.
He brought in a small booklet with all the show dates. He was saying that
the events I mentioned were good ones and was just wondering why I wasnt
going to them.

used to get that book sent to me ...but not had it in a few years now. Mainly I think is because we never went to anything apart from one, Dean castle

I remember posting up a few of the events One in Bridge of Allan ...we never went, One at the Perth aerodrome..we never went....another one was down in the Borders...we never went

there was maybe one or two more I think, but we could never get enough people wanting to go along.

but the have a website with a list

http://classicshowsuk.co.uk/searchevent ... county.asp

you will need to do search by country to get them listed for Scotland

I organized the 2011 Billing meet for cc.com, we ended up with about 40 people attending, 24-25 Calibra's over the weekend (including 2 who came over from Northern Ireland).

I started the "interest" thread nearly a year in advance but it paid off in terms of numbers & cars. I also asked all members for a minimum £5 donation to have their names added to the "attending" list. Not everyone who donated ended up coming but it raised just over £500 which I used to buy booze, bbq food, some engraved trophy's for the awards & a few club bits & bob's (stickers, mugs etc) for other little prizes.

I don't want to tell you lot how to run your events by any means but everyone who attended cc.com Billing 2011 all felt they'd got their moneys worth (all fed & watered) & we had a brilliant weekend.

The key I found was advanced notice & constantly hassling everyone to attend. It was ballache for me but the result was a bloody good weekend for all & more Calibra's than I've seen together in the same place since!

The one above is the prize winners, you may notice if you look closely that each one has it's trophy displayed somewhere on it LOL! The one with gaffer tape on the bumper won the prize for furthest distance travelled, came from somewhere in the Northern reaches of Scotland.
