Club Gazebo

by Allys Cally » Tue Jul 15, 2014 9:03 pm

i'm sure we'll all agree that the gazebo that Steve (bodgetastic) brought up on saturday was a welcome addition when it started raining on saturday night.

so i had a look on good old ebay and they don't seen to be that dear, they're roughly £150.

surely as a club we could club together and get one of these (or 2) as a more permanent addition for attending Billing and other events.

if everyone agrees surely we could start a list of names and get the donations coming in

example of the one Steve had in link below

to be honest they're as flimsy as hell, we had a near miss a few years ago with one of them when the wind got up and pulled it out the ground and over the cars.

it actually done some light damage to mine and SeanC's cars

Bloody hell Ally, I was just telling Jane exactly this, you must of been typing it as I was saying it.

What we MUST think about is getting some of our land back. Mig proper took the P this year.
How we do that I have no idea.
I would say Mig's camping area was 40% full and the car area was like 25% if that.
The beemer took up alot of their space

We could of fitted all of our tents in between theirs and all our cars twice over between theirs
We potentially will have 25+ cars next year, but remember that means a lot more tent space required. (im gonna camp next year)

agreed mate, personally i would be willing to put £20 into the pot. even if we got 15 people putting the same in, there would be the 2 bought.

obviously the more that put in the cheaper it would be

I remember the gazibo thing being discussed a couple of times over the weekend. Getting our own is a good ideal. I would be happy to donate towards one.

Yep mines the Coleman event shelter. It would be good to get the same as mine if only buying one so we then have two the same (maybe my OCD talking) but would look better.

I'm in too, do they do an extra canvas piece so two can be joined together too?

Don't Billing set the boundaries out so MiG would just use whatever they are allocated?.
We need to raise this with the VBOA organisers to redefine our boundary
Have we ever tried setting the cars out in a ring with the cars pointing inwards with maybe one of our banners in the middle?
Just make it easier for people to look round them than when they are in rows and we could salute it in the mornings!
Change is inevitable......except from a vending machine!

The stand areas are marked out by the VBOA, the amount of space that mig have is a bit of a joke and I will bring this up at the next VBOA meeting which mig won't like as they would like the whole field.
