Not in a good place this morning!!!:(:(:(
Been chasing a leak on my 3.2 Calibra ever since I put the re-cored rad in and think I've reached the conclusion it's the rad so it has to come out again at the weekend.
So taxed the 3.0 Calibra for today having also refitted a repaired rad in that which promptly decided to s**t itself again on the way to work today
Beginning to suspect Coolex who did both the re-core and the repair are useless!!!
Anyone tell me what pressure the coolant system usually runs at when up to temp to make sure their pressure testing is adequate?

I can only guess until it's out but it has to be somewhere along the bottom, possibly the join to one of the tanks

I would have :D

So did you determine that the rad is definitely at fault?
& that your 3.0 has a leaky rad too??

Yep tHey both have leaks
The 3.2 is a very slow one but the 3.0 is a 'gusher'
Both look like they have failed along the seal between the core and one of the tanks infact on the 3.0, you can see coolant run down the inside seam from about halfway up the core

I didn't think that was too bad for an extremely amateur but determined DIYer

Well the rad is beyond repair, one of the tanks has split
They are ordering a new rad
The only problem is that OE rads aren't available and any other ones don't seem to come with all the relevant hose connectors, I guess whoever nicked the pattern to reproduce them got lazy
They are going to remove the missing connectors from the original rad and plastic weld them in place - only charging me £50 so worth a shot

Almost certain that the HG has gone

Possibly going to have to scrap it sadly but if I do some of the bits will go on the 3.2

I know it's not a bad job but it will need the heads skimming to be sure.
Beginning to suspect one of the previous owners was a bodger
It's possible that coolant loss has been going on for a while as the coolant level sensor had been disconnected and bypassed.
