After the snow, the smell of damp carpets

by kdchorse2 » Sat Jan 16, 2010 11:48 am

Anyone else suffer the delightful odour from carpets that got damp from boots in the snow?

I am going to borrow a mini-dehumidifier tomorrow to give it a bit of a dry as I dont go far enough at the moment to acheive much with the aircon.
At least it does not smell as bad as wet dog and is complimented by the aroma of simmered engine oil from a leak on the cam covers (just need some decent weather to fit the Vecra ones).

Mine smells fine. Although I have car mats which are probably better than the standard carpets :)

Agree, cheap nappies work well, we used them to soak up puppy wee from the house carpets, brilliant!!

Check your pollen filter, if fitted, isn't crapped up or your elephants trunk.

Not an issue I have, pongy mats, but then I tend to have the blowers on full chat on my feet a lot!
