young driver changes

by v6 steve » Fri Oct 11, 2013 10:04 pm

what a load of bull s**t, the government are trying to change things for young drivers, they are trying to not let them sit there tests till there 18 and not let them drive after 10pm

come on what difference will it make if they pass there test at 17 or 18? it might be different if they where to say that you have to learn to drive for 12 months before they can sit a test (some will just wait till there 18 before starting)

so after they lift the 10pm ban on our kids licence they can go out it will only make the age of these drivers having so called accidents be a year or 2 older !!!! so what's the point

i have so much more to say about this but ill leave at this at the mo what do you all think ?

Sure they said that the 10pm curfew was to be on all new drivers not sure up to what age but it was a 27 yr old they were talking to on breakfast tv also no passengers under the age of 30 for the first year in the car, whats that all about. A mum/dad and their child not being able to travel anywhere in that first year and how would they police all this they would have to be constantly stopping people to check. JUST NUTS.

Well the issue is see is this if you work say 24hr supermarket an you finish at 11pm your supposed to leave car at home .

I dont see the logic of increasing age , if they going to do that then they should scrap the hazard test and theriory test as its been out now what ten years an has made no diffrence .
The test should include more specialist driving lessons/test /question all should be aimed at what to do at speed the " if you drive fast you increase the chances of accident " means yeah yeah what give me keys im going out. I think the money they waste on hazard and theriory test s***e scrap that and should be spent on a little advanced driving at an affordable rate aspart of the test not optional extra . Teach kids to drive like the hired it cause they going to do it anyway better they get to do it with a proper instructor it shouldnt be pass fail test for the advanced part just a lesson

It's not just young drivers but all new drivers, the only thing I can see this doing is we will have more people driving without a licence.

my point is that they already have a problem trying to police young looking drivers (the only way they can is by stopping and checking ) now if they bring out these new rules then they will be for ever stopping cars and not catching Real criminals

they should bring out a P plate like ozz and make ALL new drivers show it for 12 months and bring in refresher course every few years for everyone not a test as such but a refresher, you could lso use this to prove to insurance that you can drive and for them to inform drivers about new things like roundabouts and indicators ect

Having been teaching now for the best part of 11 year's this is what I would do.

1. Minimum of 100 hours of mixed driving (day, night and dual carriageways) which must be logged with a ADI.

2. Maximum engine size of 1.1l for the first 2 years of having a full licence.

3. Green number plates to make them stand out.

4. No more than one passenger.

5. Must do a minimum of 6 hours Motorway driving with a ADI within the first 6 months of passing your test.

This is just what I think.

Cost with me would be £26.50 an hour.

I spend a lot of time putting right what family and friends teach.

Okay change that to bhp limit them to say 65 bhp.

I do think that they need to stand out and how many family cars are that low a bhp.

Motorway driving should be a must, as I don't think the standard is very good(M25, M23, M3)

Whatever is put in place it's never going to suit everyone and is subjective to your point of view.
