digital volt gauge

Any electrical issues

got a digital volt gauge coming any day now, needs a + and a - for power, and needs connecting to dash lights too for illumination. where's the best place to get this power from in the wiring loom?

orange, least off of a std stereo loom (aftermarket radio one not the car one)

i have a kenwood multimedia head unit, so in it's wiring harness there could be an orange wire?

should be, if not find the feed in the car loom that goes live when the lights come on
i've not got a diagram of the feeds into the power plug so can't post it i'm afraid

Col, i had the original lead for the oil/volt gauges, the one with the plug on the end, could i use that illuminatuion lead?not sure which colour it was, blue/yellow i think.

yeah that'd work, just use a cable connector and splice onto it
