Warning Light on Dash - what is it?

Any electrical issues

Hi all,

On my 92-RedTop - When I start the engine, im left with an orange warning light that is a lightbulb with an exclamation mark on it.

If I drive off, it goes out in a couple a seconds, but if I stay stationary with engine running - it stays on.

Any ideas what this is?

Thanks,

Adam. 8)

Okkkkk....

After checking every bulb - they all work

The only ones that dont are the heater controls (and i dont want to take that apart!)

So - any other ideas as to why this lght comes on?

Its really bugging me now.

Thanks,

the light will remain on until you press teh brake pedal, and it knows that the lights are working, it is part of the 'Check Control' feature in the car.

Think about it this way:

the circuit checks occur when you start the engine, but it can't test the brake circuit because it's open until you press the pedal.
