no ignition light on dash??????/

ok peeps Fraz got it rite! my charging circuit has a fault on my se9. only problem is now i have changed the bulb for a good one and it still dont light up????????????

so no ignition light!!!!!! anyone got any ideas?

eh there is a break in the circuit from alternator to the bulb. I think that will go to the large round connector down by the battery ...could be the wire has broken there

checked wires and fuses, and the bulb is ok................

Is there power to the live side of the fuse? Put a tester in the fuse socket

which fuse?

have got car on axle stands now and just removing heat shield from it.

cant reach just yet but from what i can see there are two terminals on the altinator (one large - one small)

now the multimetre is getting 12v from the large one with ignition on. is this correct?

no thats direct to the battery, its the smaller one you want

ok with the two wires wired up i get 12v on the large one and the smaller one is earthed.

turn the ignition on and the smaller one is then 12v and large still 12v

is that how it should be?

ok with the small wire disconnected and the ignition on it is getting 12v, once ignition is switched off it is earthed again.

is that how it should be?

ok dash out, now what?

the bulb is ok, i asume its the one the same size as a side light yeh?

i cant get dash completely out due to wheel in the way.

no its a very small bulb and its in a holder, it will be in the bottom of the dash
