i put the lead on as you said and it fired up a bit quicker than it has been but im not sure i had a decent connection :(

saturday morning when i started it up to go Birmingham it had the same old flat battery but it just managed to start :D Drove all the way to Brum and back, parked it up for 24 hours
went out sunday expecting to have to push it as thats the longest i have left it and...................
Brooom started at normal speed like it was fit and healthy again :think:

i still have my ongoing lekky fault ive replaced a fair few things but my question for the day is

when a bulb blows can it still pull juice?

nope... a blown bulb = a broken circuit...

it's still not arrived the poxy fecking thing :( one simple way to find out is pull the blown sidelight bulb out and see if she starts tomorrow :lol:

well im gonna have to wait a little while longer as i have exploded the multimeter that i bought, the wires started to smoke and melt
how was i supposed to know it had another setting :( all it had was lines and swooshy things on the switch not good old fecking english

looks like im gonna take mr V's advice and give the sparky down the road a call :oops:
