Wierd Drivers door window

Any electrical issues

Hi,
Just a quick question. Im guessing that this problem is one that is suppose to happen but not sure why

When I do the windows up sometimes the drivers side goes all the way up and after a second or two it opens down a couple of inches.

Is this to prevent the sunroof getting damaged when I shut the door??

Is this really a standard thing or is my car possessed :? :?

Thanks
DAN

Nothing to do with the sunroof mate and I've never seen one do that - they should only bounce back if they get an obstruction, but then yours goes all the way and only comes down after a couple of seconds??

I'm going for the possessed idea

lol, strange

Thought it might need to drop to prevent you popping the sunroof when you slam the door but my old 8v didnt do it.
The window doesnt go up when i lock the door so something is not right.
If I put the window back up after its come down it will stay there

Better get on the phone to the local church see if they can help

cheers

If Stupink's suggestion doesn't work, you will need an old preiset and a young priest.

try giving the guides a spray with a silicon fluid, they sometimes get gunged up with dirt and this causes the obstruction sensor to kick in which will drop the window a couple of inches.does the window stay closed if you keep the little black button pressed while you close it?

Mine used to do that all the time, annoying as hell!!

I tried all the above advice, lubed the runners, reprogramming and even adjusted the angle of the glass (don't even go there).

After months of much cursing and wall punching someone suggested I change the switch unit, cost me £5 from a scrappy (off a Cav), took six and a half minutes to fit and has never done it since, perfect.

When you have explored all the probable causes then whatever is left, however improbable, must be the answer. Elementary my dear Dan.

Well... I took the 'old priest and young priest' advice and its seems to have stopped now!!

Not really.... It just hasn't happened in a while!

What a pointless reply this was.....

I cleaned the door rubbers (the ones the glass slides on) and sprayed silicone spray all over them. Works fine now!
