Rear side lights not working, but all the rest do

Any electrical issues

Rear side lights not working, but all the rest do

by wcKo » Sat Sep 11, 2010 1:36 pm

My rear side lights have stopped working on the drivers side. All the other lights work its just the 2 bulbs for the rear side light dont. I have replaced the bulbs, checked the fuses, replaced fuses 1 + 21 any case (rear side light fuses - 21 being the drivers + 1 passenger), checked earth on these bulbs, checked wires on back of fuse box, replaced rear light and still nothing. Any ideas guys??

check the connectors on the bulb holder where it makes contact with the light

Replaced the whole light so its not the bulb holder unless I have 2 lights both with the exact fault and same rest of the bulbs work on both sets

best get a meter or test light and see if your getting a live at the connector that plugs into the rear lights, what one is not working the drivers side or passengers side

wires for the rear lights go to the passenger side first then go across the back to the passenger side, could be the wires have been cut somehow, if all else fails just run a wire from the drivers side over

Good Idea mate will try that. It did have a tow bar whic was removed but that was months ago. Will have a fiddle in the passenger side then if all else fails, a quick bridge fron one side to the other and then will forget about it lol

sounds like a bad connection/broken wire...

have you tested the wires with a meter as it might be the switch i would check to see if you have a live feed at the back of the switch
