Wondering if someone out there can help me

I had the EML light come on last weeek so had the code read as being the Cam sensor so i went to vauxhall and brought one didnt want to take the chance with the ones off ebay. well long story short after fitting it the car wont start turns over but wont start i chuck in the old one and starts fine!!

Is there something i'm doing wrong ? Couldnt find nothing in the haynes about instalation.

Its in a Astra G 2.0 if that makes a difference

If the new sensor stops the car from starting I'd say it's the wrong one.
Also, how was the car running when the eml light came on?

It was running just fine revving and idling ok no miss fires etc

I made sure the new one had the same part number as the one already in the car before i paid vauxhalls extortionate prices lol

well if part numbers are the same its got to be faulty they only plug in the one way so you cant get that wrong

If it runs 100% on the old one, why are you changing it?
