Electrics cut out when it rains.

by Rob-se9 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 11:02 am

Since the heavy rain we've been getting recently the V6 cuts out randomly when driving around town or it'll stop and start in a second causing the car to volt forward. It only does it when it rains :S. The engine managment light comes on just before it cuts out or jolts. It doesnt splutter its almost as if somebody it turning the car off. Anybody else had this problem? I will do the paper clip test soon and write the results up :).

just done the paper clip test. it read 74-MAS (high voltage). Had a look at the connector looks fine with the green rubber seal still inside, sprayed some wd40 on it. Also dad noticed that the front knock sonsor live wire has exposed wire strands. Maybe this could be shorting out on the body work? I've taped it up and taken it for a drive, seems ok now (touch wood).
