Cooling Fan

by Russep00 » Mon Sep 17, 2012 2:13 pm

The cooling fan on My V6 doesn't seem to be working. I suspect the fuse/relay is in the engine bay (as there is no fuse wiring present for it in the fuse box) - but which one is it?

Obviously I'll then check out the fan switch etc

What's the best way to test the switch Steve?

Main radiator cooling fan - temp gauge going >100 and it's not kicking in.

Not sure whether its relevant but the alternator cooling fan kicks in fine

check the radiator fan switch in the radiator as that maybe part of the problem,or you can buy a lower temp switch from LMF, so the fan cuts in at 82C

Still struggling with this - something definitely not right when cold either, so would welcome a tad more guidance on how to test the various switches/relays mentioned above. :(

Yes, has aircon (although non-functioning due to leak)

Thanks, I will try this - I have visually checked all the fuses in the bulkhead but not sure which one is specific to the fans?
