by craigyboy » Wed Jan 23, 2013 8:13 pm

The rear side lights are not working and the indicator lamp is
illuminating on the dash board.Ive checked the fuses and lamps
and they are all ok.Does the lighting go through the ECU? Anyone
any ideas?

Thanks

are you getting a live at the rear?

and no the circuit goes (in a simple way ) fuesd feed to light switch out put from switch to lights

it should not be going through the ENGINE CONTROL UNIT ...there is no Body control unit as in newer cars

I would start at the switch check that your getting the feed there and its working by switching a live output, it then should go to the check control unit and then to lights

the wires run up the N/S to the rear for both lights

so the front work ...but are they standard lights or aftermarket ones ...and if so are they using the standard front side light circuit ?

are you getting 12V at the rear lights?

are you getting 12V from the light switch ?

you must have pulled a connector off some place behind the dash ...the ECU has nothing what so ever to do with the lights
