look in where the pins are to connect the loom, either side there are two pins that you need to push to unclip, then with the board legs uncliped the top board should slide down and out.. ish.. kinda.. hahah.. its evil.. but if you look closly you'll see how its clipped in,

It's a bit of a fiddle.

To take 'em apart... pull... there is a plastic connector in the middle that needs the centre section removing from it - this releases the two sections, then it's a matter of pulling apart at the ribbon side

As for getting the top section to flip back...

Look at the connector block. Below the top line of connectors insert a flat blade screwdriver and push in and down , you'll see it start to move away...

Okay, now at the same time wedge another screwdriver between the edge of the PCB and the connector housing and push back (separating them). It takes a bit of a push but it does work (honest!)

The top section of pcb will pop out and

Obviously be careful, and if you were nearer I'd offer to do it for you...

didnt know any were soldered, bloody ell.. wonder why they changed....

either way, be very carefull anti-static and also physically, the legs snapp off fairly easily when at the wrong angles, but you can be firm with them when they are all lined up.

just touch the case of your p.c. before you start to pull things apart... you simply need to ensure that you have no static build up on you... I've ONCE fried a mobo from not earthing myself... heck of a spark!

Oh and no stroking cats or brushing your feet on the floor

Did you realy see an Motronic M2.7 with soldered eproms ? I never saw one till now. I would say 100% are not soldered on the Motronic M2.7 .. the m2.5 is another case.

On the m2.5 you found both .. but more common is a soldered ecu in this type of ecu. I dont see much m2.8 so i cant say something about it. I opened two of them both where not soldered.
