interior lights

First of all, would i be right in thinking the int light should come on when u open the door? and when u pull the main light switch out ? If so why doesn't mine? It works when u use the 2 switches on the light itself.

What i've checked so far :-

All the fuses in the main fuse box.
12v Getting to the 3 wires at the light.
4th wire at the light is a good earth.
Door switches are earthing good.
The main light switch is working ok.

Any thing else I could try?
is there a wire I can cut into and give a feed to?

all i know is the wireing goes down the pasenger side of the car and can be located behind the kickstrip i know this cuz my neons run off the interior light power and yes the centre of the three lights should come on with the doors opening or the switch being activated the other two run on different wireing so it doesnt have anything to do with the centre light. if i can be of anymore help pm me cheers danny

Thanks for the advice, I never thought that there maybe 3 bulbs in there!!!!!! Ok u can stop callin me stupid now.

Anyway off to find the grey wire for my neon/led's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
