Different/odd springs. could it be a problem.

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

Just noticed today that one side of my cally seemed lower than the other at the front, broken spring I thought, so I jacked it up but everything appeared to be ok, however one spring is red (uprated?) and one is black.

Now my cally is a DTM which sits 25mm lower than a standard cally on sports springs they come like that as standard. So I'm thinking that some time in the past sombody has broken one of the sport (red) springs and instead of fitting a new sport spring has gone for the cheap option and fitted a standard (black) one.

How, if at all, does this affect the cars handeling etc, should I replace the black spring?

Although mechanically there isn't much wrong with this as it should pass an MOT without a problem, from a handling point of view this is very wrong. You really should put the correct rating of spring on that corner to balance the suspension out. I'm surprised you can't feel it in the handling of the car as I'd expect it to be quite a handful when you're driving hard.
