the steel pipe is no longer serviced by Vauxhall, you'll have to have it made or make one up yourself

you can get the pipe already made from vauxhall mate. but it would be cheaper to take the part off your car and take it to your local auto place and they will make one up for you for a few quid.

Having a rusty brake line won't cause the ABS light to come on.

When the ABS kicks in the pedal drops as you describe. If the sensors or any of the trigger wheels are damaged the system can get confused and kick in momentarily at the wrong time, like under normal breaking.

Read the codes, it's the only way to find the fault. Other than randomly guessing at parts and replacing them.

im not keen on trying the paper clip test myself
so if anyone is local to me and knows what they are doing wants
to do it for me id be grateful.

It's really straigt forward once you get your head round it. You can't cause any damage to the ECU.
Follow the instructions in the link and it'll be fine.

It's either that or pay Vauxhall £95 to do it. I know what i'd prefer :D
