Front brake pads for 97 v6 calibra - part no.s

by sinbrad » Thu Feb 05, 2009 5:23 pm

Just a quick one for you guys. A few weeks ago I took the car to the local garage to have my rear bearing changed. Anyway at the same time I was advised that my front pads were v low and
should get changed. I purchased a set off of ebay ages ago so shot home and got them. Went back to pick up the car and the guy at the garage said that the pads that I had supplied were too small? So he had to source a set locally. Anyway, never noticed before today but I'm sure that my previous pads when applied would scrub the discs to about the whole of the brake disc area. The one's I've got fitted now only seem to scrub about 10cm's at the most, might even be a smaller area? I don't know which part number the pads that are now fitted are but the part numbers for the ones that I originally supplied are as follows. If you guys could tell me if they are correct for my car or was the guy at the garage correct and also should the scrub area be larger?

On outside of box - 90443873

On each pad - 90 375 728, 90 375 729

Cheers in advance

the v6 have a change over date for front pads which can be a bit hit and miss if your car is on an l/m/n reg

Mines an R plate and I think when I bought new front discs they were 288mm. So the pads are probably pre size upgrade!
