Slight steering wander

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

Slight steering wander

by Robs-se » Tue Mar 03, 2009 10:38 pm

steering seems to wander slightly from side to side as if the steering is too light. Have checked the drop links etc and all ok. Tyres also at correct pressure and wheels balanced.
The excessive wheel wobble i used to have has almost all gone since i did the brake pads. don't think the discs were seated correctly and may have to have the tracking redone. so maybe this could be contributing to the wander. Anyone any other ideas?

jack it up and put it on a stand so you can get violent and rock the wheel up in the air left/right (as in steering it) and see if you can feel any play.. repeat other side...
also rock steering wheel left/right about an inch or two and see if tyres move right away. they should do.. shouldnt be any free play.
