what struts will fit v6 97 reg?
what struts will fit v6 97 reg?
does anyone know if there are any other dampers/shock absorbers that will fit for a calibra v6 as a few mths ago i lowered the car because i broke a coil spring on the drivers side . and now my ride is a bit uncomfortable as the shocks seem to be wearing slowly
basically ive been told that cavalier struts will fit as well as astra mk3 (not 100% sure ) vectra wont be the same
ive been looking on ebay and for some struts for my car (which are uprated ones £120 ebay) but im looking elsewhere on other forums etc as i just cant afford to buy a full kit so i thought if i was lucky to get some uprated struts , i should be able to use the springs that have given me the 40mm drop.

Baz, you dont have to change the struts as the front uses cartridge shocks that fit inside the struts.
Basically you remove the strut, compress the spring, take off the top nut and undo the retaining nut that screws into the strut leg.
Jack the front up (under the body not the wishbone), then lift up the plastic cover over the shock and you will see a thin looking nut screwed into the leg, that is whats holding the shock inside. Simples (squeek)

Baz don't buy secondhand shocks as never know what your buying.
have look here http://www.tuning.co.uk/vauxshop/ they are only £49 each and much better bet than secondhand.
