Front wishbones

Tightened up the bolt going through the bottom ball joint today, went it nice and square after a bit of swearing at the dam polybushes but has threaded and just spins now

Whats the best fix

you'll need to cut a hole in the footwell and weld the bolt or new bolt back in place

I cant really visualise where it comes up or how far out the bolt pretudes, can I just simply drill through and just put a nut on the top of the bolt?

its at a bit thats double skinned, so would need a rather long bolt ...and it would be sticking out right where your feet will be

Good plan.

So I could drill a hole in the top skin and put a nut on the bottom where the bolt comes through? Im sure it will make sense later? May try and tap a new thread first and get a bigger bolt?

i wouldn't think the floor pan will be stroing enough too take the presure that it will be put under, i would dril a hole from the subframe side up so you know where to cut the floor then ut off old bolt and replace it

Same thing happened to my Le, someone, cut a small hole in the floor skind and welded a new bolt in place, welded it back up again, then seal up floor (waxoyl etc) Either that or a heli-coil.

Right still a little confused lol. What does the bolt screw into? Do you mean old nut rather than bolt lol. If I cut this off can I just replace with a nut rather than having to weld something in (bearing in mind I dont have a welder  ).

Heli coil seems like the easiest option to me, any reason why it wouldnt take the torque, never used one before?

when you cut the floor there will be a bolt that should be weled on which is now broken off and spinning ether weld it on or use a new one and tighten to subframe bolt with a socket
