antil roll question

hi

heard a knockin sound, and after investigation seen that anti roll bar had come off, as a novice not sure wheres its connects to but looks like nut snapped off.

what will i need to replace the part and where does it connect to

You will need a new drop link and it bolts to the wishbone.

Yea quite a simple fix, you've sheared the thread on the balljoint and its currently facing upside down. You can buy a kit with a new ball joint and the rubbers that sit top and bottom on the wishbone as it looks like these are missing too. Have a look at the other side and it will all make sense.

The hole to the right of the droplink in the 3rd picture, yours has spun round 60 degrees by the look of it

ahh good so not an expensive job :) got sumone more mechanically minded than me, is it a hard job to fix

Buy a Haynes manual, very handy to have for the novice mechanic :)

well to be honest hes more than a novice mechanic, strips lorry gearboxes out, changes engines, but i like to get the inside knowledge of what i should expect, timewise, if its hard job etc, as im afraid hes not free!"

I'm talking about you, much better to get first hand experience with your own car and learn the basics which in the long run can save you a lot of money and give you job satisfaction as well 8-)
