Front Shock top mount...

by Calibra_Mike » Tue Apr 13, 2010 7:59 pm

Can people please post up a pic of their front top shock mount, Im not convinced mines right? A shot of the engine bay would be great...

Basically I need to know if there should be a gap between the top mount plate things and the suspension turret...

Without making things too complicated...

this is a photo of my old calibra, should i have a gap like that though, cos ive noticed it on my new Calibra, it would appear as if the nuts are the wrong way round... on my old calibra I swapped the nuts round, so the top mount plate then sat flush with the turret... get me? Just want to know if that right or not???

yes the large one was meant to be on top so i swapped them, what im saying though is with my new calibra i think the previous owner may have done the same but left the bigger nut on the bottom, so ive changed it over and it now sits right up against the turret, however ive noticed in photos other peoples seem to have a bit of a gap... little bit confused as to how it should look...

mine now...

Right ive changed it round to this? does this look right?

Image

when it was sitting flush I was getting a bit of a quicking noise when turning, I just thought it seemed odd to have a gap, can anyone tell me what the size of the gap should be?
