Rear anti-roll bar links/bushes

by MadOnVaux! » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:36 pm

The links that connect the rear anti-roll bar to the trailing arms....

Whats the crack with changing these, do they come as one piece or are the bushes etc seperate?....and how are they to replace, anything else to dismantle or can they be done in situe?

TIA :)

I found out that only Superflex do polybushes for the rear anti-roll bar link:

I was just going to get rubber replacements from Vauxhall but the lower ones will be easier to fit being in 3 parts....but how the hell would the top ones fit?, given that rubber ones are hard enough to get onto ARB's!

Just off the blower to Autovaux and ordered a new pair of rear anti roll bar links, and a pair of the lower bushes, as these were seperate oddly....came to about £43 all in with postage, not toooooo bad really.

I'll update as and when :)

I have the parts eddey cheers, they are not on that diagram though....the links attatch the ARB to the trailing arms.

I went to fit them this morning and what a bloody job.....got car jacked up ok and on stands, both lower bolts came out ok, but couldnt shift the top bit that slides over the ARB.....really had to rive at it and cut at the bush.....got the link off the passenger side but couldnt get the metal bit from the bush off the ARB, stuck fast....so had no chance in fitting the new one.........it'll have to be a garage job!! :(

Also, which is really pi$$ing me off, is even with no ARB links fitted (as i'd thought i'd narrowed it down to these), i STILL Have the F*C%ING KNOCKING coming from the rear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :madman:
