how easy is it to change the rear disc brake pads???

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

Just changing the pads is a real piece of cake on the V6 so I imagine it would be the same on the 16v. There are two pins which you pop out - which then releases a retaining bracket. You can then remove the pads, put the new ones in, re-position the bracket, and then put the pins back in.

Have you got a Haynes manual?

The outside pads, Just use a thin punch from the halfords and hammer the pins out, clean it up and put the new ones in with a bit off copper grease on the metal to metal bits, put the bracket inplace and knock the pins in
Its the rear inside shoes i hate , i always leave the car in gear as ive never done the handbrake and i dont trust it!,
do them at the same time and take some photos doing the inside ones!

I had mine done today, and woz talking to him and he woz on about a fitting kit which has a little clip in it. They are supposed to be known for breaking, only cheap little things.
