Bleeding Brakes

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

Ive had all my calipers taken off and painted, and now i need to bleed the brakes back up. someone told me that because the brake fluid reservoir has been completely emtied, i need 2 bleed the ABS system aswell. is this right? and if so, how do i do it. i know i need 2 bleed the calipers starting with the furthest away from the master cylinder and work my way closer. any help would be great
cheers

I believe the brake lines are fitted diagonally.

Drivers side front----passenger side rear/

Passenger side front---drivers side rear/

If you bleed in that order you should be fine.

Just remember to do it slowly

hmmmm, someone else told me it was.....

passenger rear - drivers rear
passenger front - drivers front

can anyone confirm either of these please??
its not that i dont believe you Trev, would just like another opinion, hopefully the same as one of the above, and not in a different order all together!!
cheers

hah ha!!!

Found it!!

it is a haynes manual for a Cavalier but i'm sure it is the same.

bleeding order is!!!

1 left hand rear brake
2 right hand front brake
3 right hand rear brake
4 left hand front brake

The arrangement of the hydraulic system is such that each circuit operates one front and one rear brake from a tandem master cylinder. Under normal circumstances both circuits operate in unison. However in the event of hydraulic failure in one circuit, full braking force will still available at two wheels.

Hope this clears it all up.

simple rule...start at the furthest away from reservoir and work toward the one nearest the reservoir
