Fitting 'Key Operated' Vectra Door Handles...

by EddeyDancer » Wed Nov 23, 2011 9:48 pm

I've fitted both of the external 'Vectra Style' colour coded door handles...

The issue that I'm having, is that the 'Key Barrel' does not align correctly with the Key Hole...

I've fitted the Vectra Door Handles with the Original Calibra backing plates and switches untouched...

It works fine, but it's just that the alignment looks bad, and dirt and water can easliy get inside!!!

Has anyone else had this issue, who may be able to offer some useful information???

I'm sure you have to use the Vectra backplate, and re-drill the bolt/screw holes.

Do You know if it's actually been done???

I was going to do this a while back, and got told i needed the Vectra backplate so the lock would line up, and re-drill the holes.....in the end i scrapped the idea and fitted proper new Calibra handle.

Using the Vectra Back Plate is fine, as long as You have it's Key...

Well I guess if it was possible, someone surely would've done it by now!!!

Perhaps I should stick with the 'De-Locked Handles' and hook up a Remote!!!

No...

I've just got the Standard Central Locking and Immobiliser...
I've still got the Vectra Handle with the Calibra door bits on, for now...

I got to get another door handle, and remote kit very soon! ;)
But it's actually working fine for now...

I just carry some tape to block the hole, from the dirt or rain!

I wonder what the inside of that Door Handle, looks like!!!

Did they used the Calibra or Vectra Backing Plate???

How is the Door Switch, mounted onto that Backing Plate???

I'm going to go the 'Keyless' as it's seems to be the easier option!!!

How difficult is it to hook up, the Keyless Entry Remote?

Only the later ones, early facelifts come with standard flat handles.
