if i remember the cali ones have a slight angle to the joint

Hahaa lol ;)

Also I see many people mounting the lifters opposite way round to what Eddey has in those pictures. So thin section at bottom thicker at top. Which is it?

Either way will work, but I prefer the look with a stronger base...

As that's how the Tailgate Struts are fitted, so I followed that same Logic... ;)
